The Department of Economics at Purdue University invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral fellow position at the interface of macroeconomics, computational, and experimental economics. This position requires a Ph.D. in Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
About the Position
The primary research agenda will focus on applications of agent-based models in conjunction with laboratory experiments to study adoption and competition between multiple currencies. The responsibilities will include conducting experimental studies, programming agent-based simulations, writing grant applications (previous experience is a plus), preparing research papers for publication in academic journals, etc. In addition, during the first year, up to 12.5 percent of the postdoctoral appointment will involve teaching a course of the candidate’s own area of expertise, while during the second year, up to 25 percent of the postdoctoral appointment will involve managing the Vernon Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory.
