Position Description:

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive services to students, faculty, and staff on the University’s Health Science Campus as they pertain to the offices of Student Financial Aid, Registrar, Treasurer, Auxiliary Services and the College of Medicine Office of Student Affairs. This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing general financial aid counseling and related form processing; researching student account inquiries and providing detailed information regarding tuition, fees and financial transactions for accounts receivable; performing audits on student accounts; processing standard registration requests, enrollment certification requests, and on-demand transcript requests; COM MD degree audit review and advisement, answering phone calls, managing all walk-in traffic for the suite, managing email inquiries, assisting the College of Medicine Office of Student Affairs with various short term projects, and assisting with presentations and communications regarding university processes related to the Student Service Center and its home back offices for prospective students of all HSC College Offices at the Health Science Campus.

This position requires significant cross-training and the ability to relate and explain the effects of processes in one operating office on those of another and how they impact our students and their respective account activity. This position, while able to serve the needs of all the university’s constituents, will have a targeted focus on students in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and the policies under which they are governed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.)

Baccalaureate degree or 5 years experience in higher education required.

Minimum 2 years experience working in higher education in a Student Services Office (Bursar, Financial Aid or Registrar) with student records and a student information system.

Knowledge of higher education and its practices and procedures.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Demonstrated proficiency with analyzing data, written, verbal, and interpersonal communications and possess strong organizational skills.Ability to use internet search engines and conduct research as needed.

Must be computer literate and possess leadership qualities.

Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Ellucian's Banner student administrative system preferred..

Experience and demonstrated proficiency with ZAP Student Records System preferred.



Working Conditions:

Works in a professional office environment with possible high customer inquiry volume and high stress levels at times. Must be able to multi-task effectively.
