The Department Secretary is the primary contact person and is responsible for the paperwork required for the efficient functioning of a department in the College of Engineering. The person in the position answers all inquiries and directs them to the appropriate person in the department and maintains the department website. The person is also responsible for filing employment paperwork, managing purchases with the department p-card, scheduling meetings, organizing department events. The person is also responsible for maintaining department records, equipment and supplies.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Licensing:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent required. Associate preferred
- Minimum 1 year office experience required, experience working as a Secretary at the University of Toledo is preferred.
- Successful score on the assessment tests for those not already in the classification
- Ability to type 30 WPM required
- Ability to communicate directly and through email with all
those interacting with the department,
including students, staff, faculty, visitors and vendors.
Working Conditions:
Works in a professional office environment with possible high stress levels at certain times.
