The NURTURES grant-funded project is a partnership that creates a complementary, integrated system of science education for grades PK-3. The NURTURES Finance Administrator works closely with the Project Director, PI, Co-PIs, staff, coaches, and evaluator to direct and/or oversee the management of the budget and business operations of the NURTURES grant.
This person is responsible for the day-to-day overall management of budget expenditures and business operations of the NURTURES grant. This person coordinates all purchasing, maintains updated budget information for the review and management of grant funds, and organizes and directs all aspects of funding and expenses associated with the grant. This person also analyzes information and data relative to personnel duties, and coordinates all aspects of hiring and payroll paperwork. This person works with Grants Accounting and the PI to assist with budget reports for the funding agency when necessary.
Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
- An Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in
business, accounting, or related
organizational field), or experience working in a sponsored research office environment, university grants accounting office, or on a federally funded grant as a business/finance manager. - Three or more years of experience working with budgets, preferably university budgets, especially collaborative projects or large federally funded grant projects
- Five or more years of experience interfacing with a variety of community partners on projects.
- strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships,
- excellent customer service skills,
- strong analytical skills,
- excellent organizational ability to multi-task skills to
produce accurate, detail-oriented work while
meeting deadlines, - experience supervising employees,
- excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- proficiency with Microsoft computer programs/applications and
demonstrated ability to use
technology to manage large databases; Banner and Concur experience would be a plus.
