Under the direction of an Associate Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program, the incumbent is responsible for providing a comprehensive program for academically and financially disadvantaged students through developing support services that enhance students’ personal, career, and academic development. The Assistant Director also must facilitate workshops on a variety of topics related to counseling, retention, leadership and student development. The incumbent will also work closely with the Admissions Office to coordinate the program’s recruitment efforts. Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in Guidance/Counseling, Psychology, Education, or other appropriate academic discipline. A Baccalaureate Degree and equivalent applied experience may be substituted for the Master’s Degree.

2. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience working with academically and economically disadvantaged students.

3. Strong interpersonal, and oral and written communications skills.

4. Demonstrated success in administration and writing proposals.

5. Experience in utilizing computer systems for word processing, data management and other applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Knowledge of Datatel a plus. Experience preparing statistical studies on computers necessary.

6. Must be available to work non-standard hours as required.
