Central Michigan University College of Medicine (CMED) is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Foundation Sciences Discipline with emphasis on teaching pathology. Successful candidates will assume a major educational role working with other faculty in implementing a highly integrated, cross-disciplinary, and inquiry-based medical school curriculum that includes case-based and team-based learning. This is predominantly a teaching position with an opportunity for administrative duties. The position will be at the Assistant Professor rank or higher, depending on credentials. The start date is negotiable.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (PhD, MD/DO)
- Experience in and strong commitment to, innovative approaches to education and learning
- Ability or commitment to facilitate interactive learning in large and small group settings
- Strong Collaborative and Communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity
- All areas of scholarly activity will be considered, but preference will be given for scholarly activity and experience related to medical education research.
- Candidates interested in advance rank must have significant relevant medical school teaching experience of high quality in both large and small group settings.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
About CMU College of Medicine: The CMU College of Medicine welcomed its inaugural class in the summer of 2013. The innovative medical school curriculum is designed to prepare students for practice in mid- to northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, with particular attention to primary care needs and support of the underserved populations, consistent with the mission of the institution.
