Job Summary
Provide leadership of the multimedia team for the University. Support GS Athletics and engage fans through delivering broadcast content and programming, in-game video board production, producing creative and engaging original video for the Georgia Southern Sports Network, ESPN+ broadcasts, regional and national television, Sun Belt Conference and other official department channels and opportunities. This person will work with the athletics external team as a key member to enhance the Georgia Southern Athletics brand, support revenue generation, boost fan engagement and tell the story of Eagle Athletics and its student-athletes. This position will lead and oversee a full-time staff, GAs and student workers.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement departmental strategies
  • Manage staff and students in providing media programs and services
  • Direct and manage all live broadcast production and live in-venue video board production
  • Coordinate live TV and post production shows/videos for all sports programs and provide engineering support for production facilities and equipment
  • Work closely with Georgia Southern Sports Properties to incorporate sponsorship fulfillment, ideate new revenue ideas and assist with the creation of sponsorship recaps
  • Serve as a member of the Athletics Department's external team, tasked with growing the Georgia Southern brand through effective messaging, increasing fan engagement and attendance at athletics' events, and maximizing revenue generation
  • Follow safety and other risk management policies in performance of work
  • Follow all Federal, Divisional, and University athletics' regulations, to include rules and regulations established by Sun Belt Conference (SBC), and National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA)
  • Communicate NCAA compliance standards and assist with rules education
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Administer organizational activities

  • Recruit new managerial employees in implementation of strategic goals within unit
  • Oversee and manage the operational budget
  • Lead development, design, and implementation of video and multimedia production
  • Collaborate with Sun Belt and ESPN broadcast media representatives

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelors degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience

Proposed Salary
$68,000 - $72,000

  • Ability to operate, maintain and teach others on necessary broadcast equipment, including but not limited to, TriCaster, Newtek 3Play replay system, LiveText, AJT , Xpression graphics, Allen & Heath audio board, Black Magic and Carbonite switchers, camera operation, etc.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, legal and ethical requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of the digital media landscape, both technical and creative
  • Knowledge and experience in broadcast engineering

  • Effective communication (verbal and written); organizational, time management, analytical, project management, problem solving, detail orientation and human relations skills
  • Proven leadership and project management skills
  • Strong technical skills and ability to leverage emerging media
  • Experience working on live productions, serving in director and/or producer role

  • Extensive technical and production skills involving broadcasting and multimedia
