Description

The Speech Language Pathology program at the University of New Haven invites applications for a non-tenure track lecturer rank faculty member to begin August 2022.

 

The Department is accepting their first cohort of Speech Language Pathology graduate students for Fall 2022. The School of Health Sciences offers a vibrant and diverse clinical and research atmosphere where academic and clinical faculty are dedicated to providing students with the highest level of professional training in the classroom, on-campus clinic, and in the community setting. The School of Health Sciences offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. We are dedicated to achieving programmatic excellence through cultural diversity.

 

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to: teach graduate and undergraduate level Speech Language Pathology courses and Health Sciences courses as needed; develop a research program that engages students, publish in respected journals, and seek external grant funding (if applicable); and actively participate in institutional and professional service. Supplemental responsibilities include coordination of the undergraduate Speech Language Pathology concentration, advising students, assisting with the launch of an MS program in Speech Language Pathology, and other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications
  • Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or a related
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DHSc, DHS, DrPH) preferred
  • Certificate of clinical competence and eligibility for a Connecticut State license to practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation, active-learning and student engagement of students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills – in the classroom, with colleagues, in written work, and in listening
  • Experience with course and program development, including navigating a university curriculum approval process
  • Demonstrated ability to forge relationships and initiate participation in development of the Speech Language Pathology
