INSTRUCTOR IN COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY: The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for an Instructor position beginning August 16, 2022. This is a full-time on-campus position and benefit-eligible non-tenured academic appointment. UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate courses such as Cognitive Psychology, Learning and Memory, Sensation and Perception, Research Methods, Principles of Psychology (Introductory Psychology), and courses in the candidate’s specialty area. Normal teaching load is four courses per semester. College teaching experience is required and experience pursuing innovative and engaging teaching strategies is desirable. Prior experience with online teaching is preferred. A demonstrated potential for participating in department and university service is preferred. Opportunities to mentor undergraduate research are available.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a minimum M.A./M.S. in psychology with specialized training in Cognitive Psychology from an accredited university prior to the start date.
