The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) will work with the President to lead innovation and change in the academy, further strengthen the Catholic and Franciscan character of academic affairs, recruit and develop mission-centric faculty, and identify and develop future academic leaders.  The VPAA is responsible to the President of the University for the developing and supervising all academic programs (undergraduate, graduate, traditional and nontraditional); providing academic leadership to the faculty, students and staff; ensuring that the academic quality of programs and faculty are consistent with accreditation standards; assessing instructional effectiveness , student learning, and efficiency in operations in all academic programs; implementing academic policy and ensuring it is up-to-date; communicating policy to faculty and other academic staff; developing new academic policy proposals; maintaining familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations that pertain to academics; monitoring and preparing budgets for academic areas; assisting the President and other administrators with general University administration; making decisions in academic areas as delegated by the President, and acting as a representative of the University to the outside community when appropriate.  A successful candidate will work in conjunction with the President and act as an active and collaborative member of the President’s council to carry out the Catholic and Franciscan mission of the University.

Doctorate degree with experience and achievement as a faculty member sufficient to justify rank of full professor in an academic discipline. Minimum of seven years academic administration experience required.  Experience with institutional accreditation and learning outcomes assessment leadership. Strong leadership, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills are essential.  Working knowledge of educational technology is essential.
