· 3 years’ experience Environmental, Health and Safety or related field
· CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is a preferred Preferred qualifications:

Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Class Summary
The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Safety Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing all applicable Federal and State Environmental, Health and Safety regulations as well as compliance with internal MCC standards. The incumbent will implement policies to ensure a safe work environment

· Drive improvements in site EHS culture, awareness, and accountability
· Lead efforts to create and operationalize EHS district-wide
· Ensure site personnel understand and align with all environmental permits
· Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures and EHS related topics
· Develops compliance assurance program, perform site audits, and work with management team to implement corrective actions
· Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans
· Maintain EHS expertise to provide technical and regulatory support to campuses and departments
· Maintain and evaluates site EHS metrics and work collaboratively with risk management on various projects and initiatives, including culture change, safety inspections, chemical waste management and environmental regulations.
· Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast site impacts
· Actively contributes to the direction and content of site EHS programs
· Develops health and safety procedures for all campus locations
· Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and accessible when needed
· Working Relationships – Must demonstrate effective communication and ability to develop working relationships Knowledge
· Knowledge of federal and state regulations, industry standards and best management practices pertaining to occupational health & safety;
· Experience writing and implementing EHS plans or programs
· Prior experience creating and implementing an EHS program
· Ability to work with people in a culturally diverse environment;
· Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation);
· Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
· Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
· Effective problem identification and solution skills
· Proven analytical and organizational ability
· Ability to conduct lab inspections Skills

· Skilled in proofreading and editing documents;
· Skilled in preparing reports and forms;
· Skilled in typing correspondence, memos, and/or other related information;
· Skilled in well-developed verbal and written communication skills;
· Skilled in communicating effectively with coworkers and staff of various levels within the organization; Positions Supervised Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: balancing, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, stooping, reaching, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Licensing Requirements
