Job Summary/Basic Function:

Reporting to the Dean of Library Services, the Library Services Office Manager has responsibility for facilities, communications/outreach, and selected financial and administrative functions. The Office Manager responds to challenges through independent thinking and creative decision-making.
  • Manages library facility, hours, and space reservation systems in coordination with Discovery & Access Services; works with campus partners and vendors on routine maintenance, building projects, and emergencies.
  • Develops and updates documentation, publications, and policies; develops communications in multiple formats (e.g. social media, email, digital signage) to promote library programming, resources, and services; coordinates and manages complex department-sponsored special events; participates in campus-wide events.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of library operations and professional development budgets; manages student employment budget; analyzes financial activities and provides input into budget planning and preparation processes.
  • Supports the Dean and Library Services overall in an administrative capacity; schedules meetings; takes and distributes minutes of Library Services staff meetings; maintains and archives records related to personnel, orders, supplies, and maintenance; and coordinates data gathering for IPEDS and other reports.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree.
  • 3-5 years experience in a complex office environment; ideally in higher education or libraries.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to work across multiple tasks.
  • Ability to provide high-level written and verbal communication.
  • Budget or financial experience.
  • Ability to work with data.
  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize diverse tasks
  • Experience with social media, publishing, or graphic design tools.
  • Fluency with Google Sheets and Docs or Microsoft Excel and Word
