The Department of Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in psychology to begin August 2022. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching is required as is the ability to involve undergraduates in research. Preference is for a Ph.D. completion, but ABD will be considered if dissertation defense is expected Fall 2022. Teaching includes biopsychology, research methods, and advanced statistic courses with other courses to be chosen based on departmental needs and candidate interests. The ability to teach neuropsychology type courses involving cognition, memory, sensation, and perception is preferred.  The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The successful applicant must maintain a program of active scholarship and supervise research projects by undergraduate students. Other duties include advising students and university service.

Students at Millikin University majoring in psychology can declare a General concentration (breadth across several areas of psychology), or they can choose to focus their studies in the Clinical concentration (courses include Personality Theory; Principles of Psychopathology), Social concentration (courses include Social Psychology; Social Cognition), or the Experimental concentration (courses include Memory and Cognition; Cognitive Neuroscience). The Experimental concentration is the focus of this search. In addition to a range of content courses, the Millikin Psychology major requires basic and advanced courses in both statistics and research methods, leading to a capstone research project.
