Job Summary:

 

This position will plan, manage and execute current student communication plans for the Center for Career Exploration and Success, Bursar, University Registrar, Student Financial Assistance, One Stop and Student Success Office within Enrollment Management and Student Success(EMSS) by utilizing varying media and best practices. Through the collection of data and assessment and analysis of key metrics, this position will measure the effectiveness of communication efforts to inform divisional practices.

The position provides written copy, graphic design, website maintenance, social media content and strategy and works with the various EMSS offices on publication creation, and communications to various constituents. This position will serve as the EMSS liaison to University Communications and Marketing.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

• Plan, manage, and execute an integrated and comprehensive communication plan using varying media, including but not limited to email, print, web, text, digital marketing, and social media for current undergraduate students, parents/authorized viewers, campus partners, and other targeted audiences at all stages of the student lifecycle, as well as for key enrollment and student success initiatives and programs.
• Collaborate with staff to recommend and implement strategic, program-specific marketing and communication initiatives that will enhance the awareness and effectiveness of the Career Center; advance mutually beneficial partnerships between employers, students and faculty; improve student career exploration and development and increase opportunities for student internships. Write copy (in addition to creating graphics) for marketing materials designed to entice student and stakeholder engagement (e.g. employers, parents, faculty, alumni, etc.)
• Provide guidance to internal programs on effective communications efforts that increase program visibility and messaging impact.
• Establish strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams. Serves as a liaison to University Communications and Marketing (UCM) for current student communication plans to ensure projects are developed and executed to meet the clients' needs and meet University branding standards. This includes being one of the final reviews on all current student communication plans for EMSS, print and digital.
• Monitor and benchmark other university communication and marketing strategies for messaging ideas, best practices, design concepts, and creative approaches to communication with target audiences.
• Responsible for creative design, planning and timely implementation of approved externally directed marketing communications messages and programs through various media, collateral, publication production and multimedia.
• Develop a change management process for EMSS website updates; Maintains and performs timely website updates, and enhancements of departmental websites; gives top priority to all website updates.
• Assist in the coordination of office-wide special events, programs, workshops, and career fairs, and other events as needed. Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working with social media platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered for the title of Associate Director:
Associate’s Degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field and 4 years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field and 3 years of experience

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered for the title of Director:
Associate’s Degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field and 8 years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field and 6 years of experience with progressively responsible duties.


 

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of social media analytics, social media publishing tools, web analytics and tracking technologies.
Higher Education experience
Demonstrated effort to promoting diversity, inclusion and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment
Experience in Microsoft Suite, Adobe
Creative problem-solving skills
