The Warrior Community seeks a full
time faculty member for the College of Business. The Accounting
faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses with
emphasis in Accounting and other related subjects assigned by the
Dean. The position includes teaching four courses per semester
and holding eight office hours per week.
Additional responsibilities include,
but are not limited to, fulfilling service and professional
development as outlined in the tenure process, student development
by advising and fostering relationships with students both in and
out of the classroom, and participating in student recruiting and
retention initiatives. Other principal duties include leading in
the development of new programs and the improvement of existing
programs and curricula, supporting efforts to increase access and
success in higher education for underrepresented students, as well
as supporting the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana
Institute of Technology.
This is a tenure-track, 9-month
teaching position in face-to-face and online course delivery.
Service to Warriors and toward recruiting efforts is expected all
months of the year. The successful candidate will work closely with
other programs in the College of Business. This faculty position
reports to the Dean of the College of Business.
The preferred faculty member will hold
an earned doctorate in Accounting or a closely related field. CPA,
CMA, or other accounting certification is preferred. Candidates
with a Masters degree in Accounting or a related field will be
considered for the position. College-level teaching experience is
preferred. Faculty rank will be commensurate with academic
credentials and experience. Professional experience or higher
education leadership are desired.
Demonstration of the ability to work
with a diverse student population, and demonstration of developing
effective relationships with students that prepare students for
academic and career success are necessary. Applicants should be
able to use technology effectively in all aspects of their work,
including teaching.
