Summary
VCU’s Facilities Management is seeking to hire an Office Administrator for their Parking and Transportation unit. The Office Administrator ensures that the daily operations of the office are run effectively and efficiently in accordance with the established goals and objectives of the department. The incumbent will serve as the liaison between the department and external parties when needed. This position provides administrative support primarily to the Director and Assistant Directors' of Parking & Transportation in addition to assisting other department managers when needed. This position will also provide HR coordination for the office by serving as the primary department contact for timekeeping rules, travel, job life cycle, and human resources. Additional duties include: data entry for senior leadership, coordinating meetings, taking notes during meetings, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Hiring Standards
- Degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or other business related degree or equivalent education and experience
- Must have proficient and accurate data entry skills
- Proficient time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to fit into a team environment characterized by shared accountabilities
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a variety of projects and to work independently
- Excellent ability to communicate and work effectively at all levels within and outside the University
- Demonstrated and proven abilities towards administrative and office functions and a track record of completing tasks and ad-hoc projects in a timely and expedient manner
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
- Several years' experience in personnel management, timekeeping, customer service and/or data entry preferred
- Knowledge regarding the state and university personnel and payroll policies and procedures
- Training in university/state payroll and human resources preferred
- Working knowledge of Banner preferred
- Human Resource background helpful
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
