Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director to work in the Student Employment Office. Under the oversight of the Director of Student Employment, this position will work in partnership with our student body and local businesses in the community to provide opportunities for employment. This is an exempt, benefited position, but the work schedule is 30 hours per week and salary is reflective of this.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background, attention to detail and be proficient in Microsoft programs. The preferred applicant will have experience in job placement and be familiar with the local business community.

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Locate and develop off campus employment with local businesses
  • Maintain membership in the Chamber of Commerce Leads Group
  • Maintain Handshake database. Add/assist business and students in navigating the site
  • Develop marketing strategies and promotional advertising for employment opportunities
  • Manage and maintain the temporary pool of student workers to include locating, hiring and placing in temporary employment on and off campus
  • Coordinate the hiring, training and record keeping of the America Reads/Counts program
  • Arrange for and organize annual off campus job fair (fall)
  • Assist in recertification of I-9 documents in Equifax
  • Organize and gather donations to support and promote Student Employee Appreciation Week
  • Hire and train student employees on all office procedures
  • Assist Student Employment Coordinator in daily responsibilities that may include; hires, terms, comp changes, background checks, drug test screening and other duties
  • Assist and participate in yearly events such as Student Employee of the Year, Preview Day, Open House and Orientations.
Qualifications

Skill Set Needed:
  • Proven track record of excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to foster open communication and promote positive relationships
  • Ability to maintain work priorities in and environment with multiple concurrent tasks and projects while meeting deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative in day-to-day activities in order to implement process improvements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and consistently follow-up on tasks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Workday and Handshake experience preferred
  • At least three years of customer support or business development experience
