Job Description:

The Employer Engagement Specialist ensures a best in class recruitment experience for employers considering Holy Cross students for entry-level employment and summer internships. The Employer Engagement Specialist is the power-user for the the Center for Career Development's (CCD) Career Services Manager (CSM), currently Handshake, provides leadership for the College's summer internship funding initiative, and works with the Director of Employer Engagement to drive and implement the CCD's employer engagement strategy.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Employer Engagement

Content expert, system administrator, and power user for the Center's CSM, currently Handshake
  • Interface with vendor representative and campus ITS partners to troubleshoot issues with the platform and/or data feed
  • Ensure integrity of employer data and postings
  • Develop and manage process to screen, approve and label all employer and position requests in Handshake
  • Investigate and address potential fraudulent employers in Handshake
  • Serve as the main point of contact for recruiters seeking to post positions and schedule recruiting visits to campus
  • Enter job descriptions and employer information into Handshake for employers and alumni requiring white glove treatment

Serve as on-site primary contact and interface with recruiting employers
  • Responsible for ensuring on-site employer events including interviews, meet & greets and lobby tables are managed according to specifications (e.g. rooms, refreshments, technology, schedules) and employers recruiting on campus have a best in class experience
  • Respond to and address questions/concerns of recruiters
  • Debrief employers at the end of the day
  • Manage changes in recruiting dates and schedules and address special and last-minute requests by employers
  • Schedule Peer Career Assistant (PCA) coverage for evening meet & greets and events
  • Manage interview schedules and troubleshoot amendments and cancellations

Reporting
  • Create and maintain records for all On-Campus Recruiting and Resume Referral employers
  • Generate semester and annual employer engagement and outreach impact reports
  • Generate monthly Alumni Engagement reports for Alumni Relations and Advancement

Marketing & communications
  • Refine and execute channel marketing system to share career community opportunities with career counselors and students
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to highlight partner opportunities to students

Crusader Internship Fund (CIF)

Develop and steward relationships with employer partners
  • Coordinate outreach to partner employers to facilitate internship postings
  • Assist Director with summer end thank you letters to internship sites and donors

Manage CIF application and stipend award process
  • Monitor financial need information and other data for funded students
  • Confirm funding amounts for each student and communicate with students throughout the process
  • Process stipend paperwork for all funded internships
  • Maintain funded student records and report on demographic data of CIF recipients
  • Provide CIF Orientation and Send Off materials to students
  • Oversee CIF website updates to ensure accurate information for students
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employers and students with questions regarding CIF
  • Assign summer interns to counselors for tracking and compile intern start and end dates
  • Advise campus partners to develop their internship process and forms

Oversee Employer Engagement Peer Career Assistants (PCAs)
  • Direct project work for employer engagement PCAs
  • Monitor progress and check in with PCAs regularly

Serve as resource for students, employers and alumni regarding CCD programs, services and resources
  • Respond knowledgeably to inquiries about CCD programs, services and resources in a welcoming manner
  • Demonstrate and assist students in the use of Handshake and the HC Network

Provide backup for the Administrative Assistant in that individual's absence


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree required; 2 - 3 years of related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in database management, including advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Strong skills in Microsoft suite applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in addition to Google Drive, Google Docs & Forms.
  • Strong interest in working with undergraduate, liberal arts students at a Jesuit institution
