Position Summary
Seeking an enthusiastic and talented biophysicist/biochemist/polymer physicist/polymer chemist/biologist to join Banerjee Laboratory at University at Buffalo (UB) in studying liquid-liquid phase separation of intrinsically disordered proteins and RNAs. The position requires the application of state-of-the-art single-molecule fluorescence and force microscopy (Lumicks C-Trap) system to study the role of multi-component phase separation in biology.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Physics, polymer physics, chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work in protein- RNA / DNA interactions, IDPs, protein-protein aggregation, optical traps, and fluorescence imaging, and/or microfluidics will be preferred.

Position Summary

- Application of correlative optical tweezer and confocal fluorescence microscopy to study biomolecular condensates.
- High-throughput phase separation assay development, and quantifying nucleic acid-protein interactions.
- Explore the role of protein/ RNA phase transition in human diseases.
