Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF)/Senior Research Assistant (SRA) (several posts) in the Division of Health Economics, Policy and Management of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 511431), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year temporary basis for PDF and on a two-year fixed-term basis for SRA, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in public health, health services research or other health-related disciplines. Those with a Master’s degree plus at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience may be considered for appointment as SRA. They should have a demonstrated record of academic research publications; strong quantitative background; and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Expertise in biostatistics/health economic outcomes research; proficiency in analysing and visualising large and complex datasets using R; and experience managing research projects would be highly desirable.

The appointees will participate in an interdisciplinary multi-year research programme on population health policy and the economic burden of disease including evaluation of a safety programme to improve COVID-19 vaccination coverage and model the long-term spill-over impact of COVID-19 on non-communicable diseases.

They will plan and coordinate the research project, analyse data, prepare reports and publications, supervise junior research staff, and perform other duties as assigned. There will be opportunities to work with health professionals to develop a career in health services research. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
