Position Summary:
The Aviation Program Specialist is critical to the success of the program. In addition to the normal administrative responsibilities, such as coordination, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and office functional management, the APS serves as the liaison with the OMVA to ensure compliance with veteran students. The Veteran's Administration has increased oversight on University flight programs and performs annual/semi-annual audits of all veteran flight records. In addition, the APS ensures compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspections as well as provides support for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspections/audits.

Minimum Education:
Certificate or degree from a four year institution.

Minimum Experience:
Two years of experience

Must be fluent in computer applications and able to learn new software applications to support the Aviation program.

Ability to function within a team environment.

Self-starter/motivated and strives for continuous improvement.

Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, etc.

Job Functions:
Oversees the flight tracking and records management for students and coordinates with the Office of Military and Veteran Affairs regarding veteran flight students.
Assists the Fix Based Operations Manager to ensure all the efficient operation of the facility.
Process flight program related expenses
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned
