Southeast Missouri State University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time faculty position to support the Unmanned Aircraft Systems BS degree program in the Department of Engineering and Technology. This faculty line is in the rank of regular non-tenure-track (RNTT) lecturer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Unmanned Aircraft Systems and related technologies
  • Conduct laboratory activities and maintain equipment and facilities associated with the courses taught
  • Support the Unmanned Aircraft Systems program, including the development of curricula and vision for the program
  • Advise students and provide service to the Department/College/University


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in unmanned aircraft systems, aerospace, aviation, engineering, technology, or related fields. Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university
  • FAA part 107 certification by August 1, 2022
  • Ability to teach and develop courses in areas such as: aviation fundamentals, UAS design, UAS policy, UAS mission planning, UAS applications, image processing, etc.
  • Demonstrated relevant industrial and/or academic experience
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multicultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities.
