Biology Tenure Track Faculty Position

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the Borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Biology at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track biology faculty position to begin Fall 2022. Required: Earned PhD or equivalent in human biology or related field by start of fall semester classes. (ABD will be considered with evidence of completion by start of fall semester classes.) College-level teaching experience also required. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant ability required. The successful applicant will be expected to teach and develop courses that primarily serve students in our Pre-medical/Allied Health programs, as well as other courses offered in the department such as research methods and introductory biology courses for majors and non-majors. Applicants whose research focuses on human health will be given special consideration. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a research program that involves undergraduates and to mentor and advise Pre-medical/Allied Health students. Salary competitive. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities, continuing scholarly growth, and service.
