Position Summary
Senior Administrative Assistant
Academic Advising & Career Services
Full-time

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide full administrative support for Directors and other professional staff
  • Provide budget support to Directors
  • Coordinate purchasing, maintenance, and inventory of office supplies and equipment
  • Maintain knowledge of functions and services of academic advising and career services
  • Provide support to walk-ins, incoming calls, and email
  • Maintain support of scheduling software and manage calendars for professional staff
  • Data entry in various administrative systems
  • Responsible for scheduling front desk coverage for two advising locations and career services, answering phone lines, and supervising and training student employees
  • Create and update forms
  • Coordinate presentation requests for the unit, identifying venues and prepping materials


Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated experience using online calendaring for multiple team members
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multicultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
