The University of New Hampshire, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Department of Education are committed to creating a more diverse community, knowing that “inclusion, diversity, and equity are values inextricably linked to our mission of educational excellence.” This diversity strengthens our ability to reach our individual and collective potential and to provide better services and care for all faculty, staff, and students.

We seek candidates who understand the barriers facing traditionally underrepresented groups in PK-12 and/or higher education, and who have engaged in teaching, research, and service that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. We seek candidates with an established research agenda, a strong publication record, and a capacity to develop externally funded research grants and projects. Possible areas of scholarly expertise/focus include (but are not limited to): (1) The impact of educational policies, programs, and structures on inequities in PK-12 and/or higher education; (2) Policies and/or practices (at the district, school, or classroom level) that disrupt the production of educational inequalities with respect to race, economic disadvantage, language status, disability, or other factors in producing educational inequalities; (3) Development of district and state-wide assessment systems that promote equity and opportunity for PK-12 students; (4) Inter-relationships among policy, organizations, reform efforts, and equity goals. Expertise with quantitative methodologies is required.

Responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; advising undergraduate and graduate students; overseeing graduate student research projects and theses; conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals; pursuing external funding to support research, teaching, and service efforts; serving on Department, College, and University committees; and engaging in professional and public service.

Additional Job Information

All candidates should submit the following materials:

  • Cover letter describing a research agenda, as well as teaching and other experiences relevant to the job description
  • A brief statement that includes concrete examples and evidence of how the candidate’s own research, teaching, or community engagement have both had a positive impact on non-dominant groups and have interrogated one’s own role in such processes
  • Curriculum vitae
  • List of three professional references with full contact information
  • One to two publications or other writing samples

Review of applications will begin January 25, 2022, and will continue until the position is filled.
