About the Opportunity:
The Northeastern University Facilities Management Division is currently looking for an Assistant Director, Athletic Facilities & Operations to join their team. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Athletic Facilities & Central Event Services, this position is responsible for assisting in the overall management and operation of the Athletic Facilities at Northeastern University's Boston Campus.

Responsibilities:
This position is part of the unit's management team and will have responsibility for scheduling and supervising full time and part time staff, including the assigning and monitoring of overtime. The individual will have direct oversight of identifying and assigning work orders and making sure that work flow happens in a timely organized manner. The position will also be responsible the management and supervision of assigned athletic facilities, where they will be the point of contact and oversee maintenance and operations of those facilities. In addition, the position will work with the director and develop the annual budget and provide input and coordination of purchasing and vendor selection along with inventory control. The successful candidate should have good organization skills, good computer and communication skills and have the ability to work with a diverse clientele. The individual should have good working knowledge of mechanical equipment for maintenance needs.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred with 4- 6 years of experience in facility management (preferably athletic facilities) and operations. Knowledge of NCAA sport requirements for managing NCAA athletic contests. Also, the ability to manage large non athletic events such as concerts, graduations and other events is required. This includes setting up security plans and logistics plans and working with the designated personnel for the event. Previous progressive supervision of staff is mandatory. Must have the ability to effectively interact with people at a variety of levels within and outside of the University. Individual must demonstrate initiative, be able to work unsupervised and have a positive working attitude. Candidate must have a valid Massachusetts drivers license. In addition, the individual must be able to work additional hours outside of their scheduled shift, including weekends, University closures and Holidays as well as be on call to respond to 24/7 emergency call ins. Knowledge of OSHA and MSDS standards is a must. The position work week may change based on the business need, so flexibility is required.

  • It is a 35-hour work week.
  • Designated schedule is Tues- Sat. 12 noon to 8:00 PM
  • Position works closely with other department heads including Facilities Services and Operations
