Key Position Information:


Position Summary:
Plan, organize, and teach to promote successful student learning outcomes. Assisting with administrative functions of the college's Electrical Lineworker program including student recruitment/intake/outreach and building industry partnerships.


Requirements::
Experience:
  • Minimum ten years’ experience as a power line worker
  • Classroom training experience
  • Knowledge of regulations that apply to electrical lineworker (OSHA, NESC, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to manage up to 20 students at one time
  • Ability to motivate and teach diverse student populations
  • In-depth knowledge in transformer theory and assembly
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism
  • Appreciation for the value of increased diversity in the Tampa Bay power industry

Preferred
• CDL or ability to obtain
• Familiarity with industry certifications
• Familiarity with Tampa Bay power industry
• Familiarity with St. Petersburg College student population

Physical:
  • Ability to climb and work in elevated positions up to 65’
  • Ability to work from a bucket for training purposes
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, to bend and reach and to move or carry items weighing up to 65 lbs
  • Ability to utilize personal fall arrest and positioning device systems within OSHA regulations and manufacturer’s recommendations
