MULTIPLE FACULTY POSITIONS AT ALL RANKS
IN THE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & APPLIED SCIENCE,
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MILWAUKEE

The College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applications for tenure / tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks starting in August 2022. The College is strategically hiring to expand and enhance our capabilities in each of five key strength areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Biomedical and Health, Embedded Systems, Transportation, and Water and Water Technology. Our strength areas draw from all departments in the college; therefore, applicants will be considered from any discipline. It is expected that successful candidates will develop strong collaborations with existing faculty, while at the same time independently contribute to these strength areas.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is a doctoral/research intensive university, R1 in the Carnegie Classification, and is also Wisconsin's premier public urban institution offering comprehensive professional, science, and liberal arts education at the undergraduate and graduate level to its 25,000 students.

The College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) is committed to excellence in scholarly research and teaching across all seven departments—Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The College has approximately 1750 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students, both Master's and Doctoral. Greater Milwaukee, the third-ranked manufacturing center in the United States, is home to 400+ engineering firms and 1300+ manufacturing firms with annual receipts of 24 billion dollars. The College has a long history of industrial collaboration and research support. More information about the College can be found at http://uwm.edu/engineering/

We promote excellence through diversity and encourage all qualified individuals to apply.

UWM is an urban campus within a strong and vibrant manufacturing hub. Successful candidates in Advanced Manufacturing will work closely with our Connected Systems Institute (CSI) and our local industrial partners.

Biomedical and Health is one of our fastest growing strength areas and benefits from our collaboration with the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (DSI) and our relationships with the Veterans Administration and the medical profession, including the nearby Medical College of Wisconsin.

Transportation, and more specifically, the Institute for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation (IPIT) is looking to expand to better serve the growing research demand from WisDOT and also broaden our Federal research successes.

Located on the shore of a Great Lake, Milwaukee has a deep connection to Water and Water Technology. UWM is the lead institution in the very successful Water Equipment and Policy (WEP) National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center. Successful water and water technology candidates are expected to work closely with WEP and also contribute to the Statewide Freshwater Collaborative, which is also housed at UWM.

Embedded Systems has the potential to impact and advance research across the college and collaborate with all of our institutes and centers including CSI, IPIT, DSI, and WEP.
