Engineering Education Transformation (NEET) program in MIT’s
School of Engineering seeks an Academic
Administrator to assume responsibility for all academic
operational aspects of the
cross-departmental NEET certificate program.
Responsibilities:

Advise students on academic issues,
e.g., progress through NEET curriculum requirements and alignment
with requirements of majors that form https://www.google.com/url?q=https://neet.mit.edu/threads&source=gmail&ust=1641911768953000&usg=AOvVaw1fdAu9ze3_jEz3HUhsoX5H">NEET
threads.
Support development of the NEET
student community and retention.
Provide subject administration (e.g.,
classroom scheduling, room selection, grading questions, subject
evaluations.)
Support NEET thread faculty leads and
instructors for thread initiatives and operations, respond to
requests for information, and assist with feasibility analysis of
initiatives.
Interact with departments regarding
NEET subjects and requirements.
Communicate curricular requirements,
departmental agreements, and other academic information to
students/faculty/staff, and maintain student records.
Promote and market NEET to recruit
first-years as NEET is optional.
Create, plan, and run outreach
opportunities/events, e.g., NEET Info Sessions and Project
Showcases.
Design and produce promotional
materials, e.g., handouts, posters, and brochures.
Maintain and update NEET
website.
Manage annual spring recruitment
cycle, including updating application, promotion, monitoring the
process, and maintaining database of applicants.

Bachelor’s degree.
Three years' academic administration
experience in a demanding undergraduate academic environment
working with students/faculty/staff.
Self-starter.
Excellent organizational,
interpersonal, problem-solving, and listening skills.
Desire to ensure the success of
students and the program.
Attention to detail.
Discretion and judgment.
Advanced-level computer skills, e.g.,
in MS Office, Acrobat Pro, Weblium, Slack, Airtable, Dropbox.
Ability to promote NEET for
recruiting students.
Ability to anticipate and initiate
actions regarding academic operations.
Ability to prioritize, often under
pressure.
Ability to function independently, as
part of a team, and collegially with faculty and
others.
