Job Description:

The State University of New York at Fredonia seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, 12-month, SL3, UUP represented, Lead Programmer Analyst position who is interested in joining the Enterprise Reporting & Development team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Reporting & Development, the successful candidate will:

  • Write programming code to meet business needs, with a focus on ASP.NET MVC and C#;
  • Assist in evaluation, documenting, supporting, debugging, testing and improving business systems assigned to the ERD team;
  • Support integration between Oracle, SQL Server, AD and Google for account and group membership management.
  • Support certain legacy MS Access databases, working with end users; assist in developing plans to migrate away from MS Access solutions where applicable.
  • This position will be key for supporting the Finance and Administration division and Human Resources office for programming and reporting.
  • Participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession;
  • Incorporate current information security and Electronic Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility standards and best practices into programming, database administration, and data integration duties;
  • Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.


Requirements:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in IT area or a related field with commensurate professional experience in an IT environment;
  • A minimum of four years working professionally with web and database technologies.
  • Working familiarity with Windows desktop and Server OS;
  • Experienced with SQL Server 2014-19, SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, database development, writing of stored procedures and functions;
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in .NET. ASP.NET with MVC, C#, Visual Studio 2017/2019.
  • Familiar with web accessibility standards and testing tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to program against third party APIs.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Patterns and Practices;
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, jquery, Javascript and bootstrap;
  • Working familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Access and Excel;
  • Familiarity with Visual Basic scripting, especially VBA (Visual Basic for Applications);
  • Demonstrated analytical skills relative to project business requirements;
  • Ability to communicate well in written and verbal form;
  • Work well both independently and as a team member;
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and prioritize use of time in order to meet deadlines;
  • Willing and able to learn new tools and adopt new practices;
  • Able to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiar with Active Directory and AD Group Security;
  • Experience with SQL Server BI (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS);
  • Familiar with SQL Server Administration (DBA skills);
  • Experience developing and maintaining DNN portal;
  • Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL
  • Experience with Internet Information Services 8.5 - 10 Administration;
  • Familiar with asynchronous web programming and web services.
  • Familiarity with XML and JSON.
  • Experience with source control, especially TFS.
  • Professional experience in a higher education IT environment;
  • Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement;
  • Familiar with SQL Server Availability Groups;
  • Familiar with .NET Core.
  • Some experience with instructional technology such as Blackboard or Moodle.
  • Experience performing accessibility audits using assistive and automated technologies.
  • Experience using and following Section 508 and Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and specifications - W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 and 2.1)
  • Fast learner, with enthusiasm and ability for acquiring knowledge to become a subject matter expert on compliance guidelines and initiatives.


Additional Information:

This is a full-time, term appointed, SL3, tenure track position, UUP represented position beginning as soon as possible.  This position has a salary range of $68,000-$88,000.  The salary will be commensurate with experience.
