Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a 9-month, tenure track, Associate Professor of Computer Science faculty position in the Department of Computer Science beginning August 2022.  This position also includes being the Computer Science PhD Program Director in the Department of Computer Science.  

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Teaching expectations include teaching 2 courses per term (fall/spring) in computer science at the graduate and undergraduate levels for the first 2 years.  
  • Service in the Department, College, University or professional community is expected.
  • Scholarship/Research expectations include pursuing external grants, journal articles and peer reviewed papers based upon the workload model.

 

Other responsibilities may include the following:

  • Program/course development expectations
  • Dissertation/thesis supervision
  • Working with a diverse community

 

An earned Doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or related field is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Specific experiences in artificial intelligence (including AI theory), deep learning, brain-computer Interface, computer vision, and natural language processing
  • Prior teaching at the University level
  • Experience as a Computer Science program coordinator
  • Evidence of scholarship/creative activities
  • Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
