TheOffice of the Registraris critical to providing a seamless experience for traditional, graduate, and adult students from a wide range of backgrounds. TheRegistraris a university leader who ensures excellent service to students and supports our mission to educate women to lead and influence. Oversight of daily operations in the office contributes to the success of the university’s strategic initiatives and positively impacts student success and achievement. This position creates policies and implements technologies in support of academic programs and enrollment efforts and collaborates across all schools and departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the university. Responsibilities include:

Systems Oversight
  • Manage student information system, degree audit system, transcript system.
  • Ensure ease of usability for all systems overseen by the Registrar’s Office for students, faculty, and staff by providing in-person and online training resources.
  • Utilize systemic tools to develop efficient processes for registration, degree audit, grade reporting and similar functions.

Operations
  • Ensure quality service and user support to all students, faculty, and staff on matters relating to course registration and student records.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of Academic Advising to direct the “matriculation hand-off” with each cohort of new students.
  • Organize and oversee the course registration process, development of class schedule, review of degree audits and processes related to transfer credit review.
  • Provide leadership and supports Commencement program creation, diploma preparation, and participates in Commencement activities.

Curriculum Management, Scheduling, Academic Program Support
  • Oversee update and publication of the course catalog to ensure accuracy for all policies and programs.
  • Coordinate development of the course schedule and academic calendar for all terms each year.
  • Play a key role in curriculum management to ensure adequate but efficient balance of course offerings; support academic program initiatives to help determine viability of programs adjustments; including best practices, policy and procedure adherence and information gathering.

Policy, Compliance & Reporting
  • Administer academic policy in accordance with federal law,AACRAO(American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) guidelines, accrediting agency guidelines, and the University Catalog.
  • Ensure compliance with regulation and reporting requirements including: NC-SARA& related reports;IPEDS; Veterans Administration, National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Assist Institutional Research with Official Enrollment reports.
  • Ensure confidentiality, security, and accuracy of all student academic records.

Staff Supervision & Budget Management
  • Provide superior personnel management and leadership to train, develop, lead, and evaluate high-performing, customer-facing professional staff.
  • Manage the Office of the Registrar, including hiring and supervising staff, managing the office’s budget, and ensuring the responsibilities of the office are being executed in an efficient, professional, and student-centered manner.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) years progressive administration/management experience in higher education that includes experience supervising professional staff.
  • Experience administering student informationERPsystems.
  • Expertise inFERPAand other federal/state compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data with a variety of tools including Excel, Access,SPSS
  • Experience with Evisions Argos or other report writing tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience using Banner software
  • Project management skills
  • Proven ability to learn new software applications, particularly those with integrative databases
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of individuals
