The Division
of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for
faculty positions within its Chemistry Program.
We particularly welcome applications from female scholars as well
as members of traditionally underrepresented groups.
Multidisciplinary research and exceptional teaching in a highly
diverse and inclusive campus community are hallmarks of the
University’s mission.
NYUAD values diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity; such
principles are fundamental to the university's commitment to
excellence. Our faculty are the engines that sustain our inclusive
environment; NYUAD students come from more than 115 countries, with
no single one nationality exceeding more than 15 percent of the
total student population. Likewise, our faculty are highly diverse
and community-minded: our modern campus is home to over 320 faculty
who represent more than 45 different nationalities, all of whom
bring a global perspective to their classrooms and research
projects. Research is advanced by over 400 highly qualified
research staff, who are likewise drawn from all over the
world.
Applicants are invited to apply for a open-rank,
tenure-track/tenured faculty position in all areas of organic
chemistry, with a preference to candidates with a research focus
involving applications at the interface with biology or computer
science. This includes but is not limited to natural product
chemistry, medicinal chemistry, organometallic chemistry, chemical
probes, screening technologies, biocatalysis, drug design and
development, chemoinformatics, and bioorganic chemistry. Applicants
should demonstrate an outstanding track record for their career
stage in both teaching and research. This includes publications in
leading peer-reviewed journals, and participation in conferences.
The candidates should have demonstrated potential to lead
independent research projects, be open to develop collaboration
networks with other faculty and internationally, and propose
research projects that are likely to secure extramural research
funding.
Successful candidates will find a vibrant research and teaching
environment that includes supportive and highly motivated
colleagues, access to outstanding resources for research, a
generous startup package as well as renewable research funding, and
broad opportunities for interdisciplinary work at NYU Abu Dhabi and
across campuses of the NYU system. Faculty have access to Core
Technology Platforms (CTP) that house state-of-the-art instruments
and qualified specialists in high-throughput screening, microscopy,
micro-fabrication, molecular and cell biology, photonics,
spectroscopy, advanced manufacturing, analytical and materials
characterization, and others. The Center for Research Computing
(CRC) provides high-performance computing facilities and support
for application hosting, data management and storage, big data,
artificial intelligence (AI), file transfer, and other activities
through the Linux cluster “Dalma” comprising around 12,000
computing cores and a peak performance of 385 TFLOPS.
