Job Summary:
The Associate Vice President for Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for the overall recruitment of students for the College. This position is responsible for a traditional Day campus admissions and recruitment model as well as a non-traditional recruitment and admissions model. The Associate Vice President represents and promotes the College, increasing its visibility and supporting the institution’s mission, vision, and goals. The Associate Vice President leads the development and implementation of the College’s recruitment strategies and plans to attract new students. In addition, the Associate Vice President works closely with Financial Aid, Marketing, Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Columbia College – Global departments to implement recruitment of new students.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College’s vision, mission, and values, and contributes to the development of the Recruitment and Admissions Department within Enrollment Management & Marketing Division.
  • Contributes to the successful accomplishment of the College’s enrollment objectives by developing and implementing a comprehensive student recruitment plan for graduate and undergraduate students which includes, but is not limited to, the following components: development of an inquiry pool through the use of student search services, outreach (college fairs, and high school visits), high school and community college relations, military education fairs, use of the web and emerging technologies, digital marketing and communication strategies, effective use of CRM technologies, campus visit programs, publications, and correspondence.
  • Provides leadership, management, and support for the recruitment efforts of the Office of Recruitment and Admissions and develops a competent, productive, and effective staff by hiring, training, and supervising, directly and through delegation, the administrative, professional, student and clerical support personnel in the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive, long-term, data-driven, and proactive College-wide recruitment plan consistent with the strategic goals, plans, and aspirations of the College.
  • Serves as a senior member of the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing leadership team
  • Creates a collegial, team-building work environment, motivating staff and cultivating productive, collaborative relationships with all constituent groups.
  • Ensures effective and efficient operation of the Recruitment and Admissions unit by coordinating unit plans, goals, and objectives, designing systems of effective controls to guide work toward expected outcomes, and evaluating progress towards their accomplishment.
  • Leverages the CRM to manage recruitment territories and improve student experience from prospect to graduation.
  • Preparation of routine and ad hoc reports as needed to inform decisions regarding enrollment management and other university initiatives
  • Has an understanding and experience working with admissions and recruitment budgets and ensures a fiscally sound operation of recruitment through setting and staying within an assigned budget each fiscal year.
  • Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the College by performing all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Communications, College Student Affairs or Leadership, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Six to eight years of experience in a college or university admissions office, with at least two years at the director level.
  • Experience in hiring, supervising, training, management decision-making, and team development.

Special Requirements (if any): The scope of the job may require attendance at evening and weekend activities, meetings, and seminars. Some overnight travel may be required.
