Position Summary
The Live-In Residence Life Isolation & Quarantine Assistant Coordinator is a vital member of the University Housing, Residence Life, and Residential Education team. This live-in position will have a physical and virtual presence in supporting the students who required weekly testing and are assigned to an assignment for either isolation or quarantine. Responsibilities will supporting residents in the isolation and quarantine spaces (on-campus and hotels), performing regular rounds through occupied floors at strategic times, observing and documenting any concerns through University Housing's documentation database and communication systems, serving as a liaison to the COVID-19 Care team, University Health Services, and other University Housing team members, including Residence Life, Facilities, and Dining staff.

The Residence Life Isolation & Quarantine Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director, University Apartments, Family and Student Services or their designee.

The position will be working in a potentially high COVID-19 exposure environment with known and unknown associated health risks. Individuals with underlying health conditions who contract COVID-19 have greater risk for morbidity and mortality as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (cdc.gov) and should consider these risks prior to accepting this position. This is a temporary full-time live-in position requiring weekend and evening work.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of experience in program development and maintenance

  • Comfort working in a congregant, residential setting during a pandemic
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice (investment and engagement in self-education around identity, intersectionality, power, privilege, and oppression, etc.)
  • Experience with and commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Ability to establish and implement short-and-long range goals, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and parents, as well as a wide range of constituents in a diverse community
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, de-escalation, and advocacy principles and trauma-informed care practices
  • Ability to interpret and apply policy provisions to situations consistently
  • Must be willing to drive passenger vehicles and possess/maintain a clean driving record and driver's license. This may be for purposes including the transportation of students to isolation or quarantine assignments in Graduate Village or hotels.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience managing a caseload or other experience that demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
