Open Rank Professor of Sociology

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Rowan University is seeking applicants to fill an open rank faculty position (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in the field of gerontology or health sociology, beginning September 1, 2022. Applicants must produce high quality scholarly research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses of multiple modalities (online, hybrid and in person), and be committed to department, college and university service. The successful candidate will be expected to seek external funding for research and participate in departmental initiatives including collaborative research, teaching and learning projects.

Minimum Qualifications : Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology in-hand, or ABD if applying for the position of Assistant Professor with a firm date of completion prior to September 1, 2022.

The Sociology and Anthropology Department offers a supportive environment to students wishing to pursue undergraduate degrees and certificates in Sociology, Anthropology, Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, Human Services, and developing graduate and undergraduate degrees in Social Work . We are seeking faculty who can help strengthen the program while fulfilling their research mission. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is the second largest college at Rowan University with seven departments, a Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, and nineteen majors.
