Position Purpose

Dartmouth College Counseling Center is looking to fill a three-year term position for a Suicide Prevention & Outreach Specialist/Counselor. This position will further our already existing campus-wide suicide prevention program. The individual in this position will work with the Suicide Prevention team to plan, design, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive suicide prevention program, as well as provide counseling to Dartmouth students.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp

PhD plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Master of Social Work ( MSW ), MA in Counseling from CACREP program, Doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Two years direct clinical experience (can include internship).
  • Demonstrated competency, experience, and commitment to issues of diversity in the delivery of clinical services and in outreach/programming.
  • Professional experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating community health programs.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary college/university counseling center setting.
  • License or license-eligible within two years of hire in New Hampshire required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with a variety of audiences, including students, faculty, and staff.
