The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts
and Sciences at the University of North Florida (UNF) invites
candidates to apply for the Director of the SMART Center
position. The SMART Center will be a center designed to
serve students across units with their mathematics and statistics
related needs. The SMART Center will support the
instruction in mathematics and statistics courses taught in the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics to enhance student
success. The center also provides modules and tutoring support for
topics in mathematics and statistics. As one of the largest
departments at UNF the Department has over 30 faculty
members and offers several undergraduate and graduate programs of
study. Our students are able to pursue the following degrees; B. S.
and B.A. in Mathematics and B.S. in Mathematics with concentrations
in: Applied Mathematics and Discrete Analysis, and B.S. in
Statistics with concentration in Actuarial Sciences. In addition,
the Department offers a graduate degree of Master of Science in
Mathematical Sciences with both Mathematics and Statistics
tracks. UNF is committed to providing an inclusive and

The candidate must have a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a related area and three years of administrative experience in running a post-secondary level mathematics and/or statistics skills center.
