POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will focus on recruitment related activities, consulting with hiring managers to identify their position requirements, and then facilitate and drive the hiring process. Responsibilities will include working with hiring managers to define/hone job specifications; creating and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies, and assessing candidates' non-technical skills/knowledge and attributes. Will serve as a contact person for the candidate, hiring manager and recruiting coordinator on the status of the requisition and the candidate. Assists in providing assistance to all functional hiring managers throughout the University system by following the structured interview process. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong sense of urgency and innovation, and demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills. Incumbent must assure that the University philosophy is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position: quality services to client; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and maintenance of an environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion. KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

  • Assist with the management of exempt and non-exempt recruitment. Demonstrates a professional presence. Experienced in working with senior management.
  • Proactively discusses needs and opportunities.
  • Track position openings to ensure that targeted hiring timeframe is evaluated and met on a consistent basis and update the Applicant Tracking System and job postings and ensure postings are accurate.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define a recruitment strategy to find the best talent, based on the business needs and goals.
  • Prepares requisition in partnership with compensation and obtains the necessary approvals to begin the recruiting process. Maintains Applicant Tracking System and applicant workflow.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events to identify and attract quality candidates
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process. Establishes a reputation as a quality service provider both by candidates and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate a structured interview process to ensure candidates are interviewed, assessments are completed and candidates are managed through the hiring process.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate candidate responses during the interview process. Presents competitive offers to selected candidates. Effectively describes the offer, manages expectations, overcomes objections and closes candidates.
  • Ensure compliance with related local, state, and federal regulations and legal requirements. Remain abreast of industry trends and related legal legislation applicable to recruitment.
  • May be responsible for specific departments or the whole university.
  • May be responsible for various University Administration projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or other related discipline required.
  • 3+ years of experience recruiting talent and full lifecycle recruiting
  • Experience working in high volume recruiting is preferred
  • Well-rounded recruiting experience is desired; both technical and non-technical functional recruiting experience (i.e. Technology, Accounting/Finance)
  • Proven track record of attracting top talent and achievement of defined metrics.
  • Must have a working knowledge of recruiting policies and practices.
  • Technical capabilities: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database systems, applicant tracking systems
  • Experience using a structured interview process.
  • Executive search experience highly desired.
  • Strong sourcing skills with demonstrated successes utilizing current on-line sourcing techniques, networking and building pipelines
  • Experience using a structured interview process.
  • Strong negotiation skills required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with supervisor, faculty and staff /.
  • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests.
  • Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
