New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development is accepting applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Associate Professor position, Interdepartmental Research Methods, to begin September 2022. The appointed faculty member will be part of the Department of Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities (ASH). The clinical professor will teach research foundations classes for both undergraduate and graduate students, primarily in the areas of applied statistics. Must have expertise in development economics as well. All courses are intended for practitioners in social science and related fields, so a commitment to creative, engaging content and course materials is required. There may be advisement and related opportunities/expectations. The faculty member will be expected to teach the equivalent of 6 classes per academic year. Position Description: The field of specialization for this position is applied statistics and applied development economics.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate students with a 3:3 teaching load; participate in course development, advising and program management, as well as university service.

Qualifications

An earned doctorate in applied statistics or development economics. Substantial experience and proven ability teaching undergraduate statistics to non-majors.
