Position Responsibilities:

The College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering, has a joint postdoctoral position available (between Gupta Group and Jiang Group). The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to work on research projects to develop advanced chemical and synthesis processes and characterization for Li-ion battery materials. The projects offer opportunity for both academia and industrial collaborations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in NMC and next-generation battery materials. In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with a vast network of scientists and engineers.

Required Qualifications:


- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Expertise in battery chemistry
- Expertise in associated analytical and battery assembly/characterization techniques
- Interest and ability to mentor junior team members, and ensure the highest levels of laboratory safety
- Excellent communication skills, including composing manuscripts
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turnaround times

Preferred Qualifications:


- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams

Salary Range: $47,500 to $55,000
