Description:
The Department of Graduate Architecture and Urban Design is seeking tech savvy, detail-oriented applicants for the position of Master of Landscape Architecture Program Assistant who will supervise program operations for the Chairperson and Academic Director. The MLA Program Assistant will identify and address the daily needs of the program in concert with the GAUD Departmental Office to ensure a smooth and responsive operation, handle program related activities such as assisting to manage budget, recruiting and admissions, overseeing student employees, shared studio spaces, social media accounts and communications outreach. The ideal candidate will be an organized, effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is a flexible team player. On a typical day you will be required to:
  • Support the needs of the Chair and Academic Coordinator for the MLA Program to ensure smooth running of daily operations including maintaining calendar, scheduling staff, faculty and student meetings as needed; coordinating departmental and program specific communication via email and social media channels, and assisting in managing budget and tracking expenses
  • In coordination with Associate Manager of Admissions ensure the timely delivery of recruiting ads, communications and notices as well as to oversee and manage a smooth admissions process for the receipt of applications
  • With the Chair, Assistant Chair and Academic Director, hire and oversee student employees in the office
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Experience: 2+ years of administrative experience required, preferably in an academic or cultural institution.

Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills and an ability to respond to change and opportunity with flexibility, poise, and confidence.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft, Excel, database, Adobe Design applications, social media platforms, and internal and external technology systems within the Institute.
  • Must have the ability to work well with diverse populations; and demonstrated level of cultural competence.
