Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives

Overview:

The Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives, works with the Dean and senior administration to plan, track, and implement a range of school-wide initiatives. Serving as a critical node of coordination, the Associate Director is a highly skilled and organized generalist responsible for guiding the execution of complex projects involving stakeholders from across the Law School community. The Associate Director also conducts research and drafts internal communications. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Planning, Communications, and Faculty Affairs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of school-wide strategic projects and initiatives, working with the Dean and members of the senior administration. 

 

  • Conduct extensive background research. Synthesize findings in a clear, concise, and easily digestible format for senior leadership. 

 

  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress and implementation. Identify measurable goals and benchmarks. Maintain active communication with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students. 

 

  • Prepare executive and internal communications, remarks, presentations, and meeting materials on behalf of the Dean and Associate Dean. 

 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean and Associate Deans. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in law, communications, public administration, education, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years’ relevant experience required.
  • Superb organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications abilities, including experience drafting messages and remarks on behalf of an executive.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once.
  • Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Unfailing tact, discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work with diverse constituencies and support an inclusive work environment.
