Terms of Employment:
  • This is a 12-month exempt position at pay level 26 in the Administrative salary schedule.
  • Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district.
  • Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire.
  • COCC employees must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.

Essential Functions:
End-User Support
  1. Support end-users of the College’s enterprise resource planning ( ERP ) system and other integrated, campus-wide software applications by responding to and addressing issues reported through the ITS help desk.
  2. Maintain the college’s cloud-hosted ERP platform (Ellucian Banner) and other enterprise applications, both on-premise and in the cloud, through analysis, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting and documentation.
  3. Consult with and assist users to define, address and resolve a wide variety of technical challenges from across the college.


Application Development, Maintenance and Support
  1. Develop and maintain interfaces to other business systems and applications as needed.
  2. Review, modify and/or write program code as needed.
  3. Develop and maintain reports, database views and data extracts in response to end-user requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities, or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Individual is expected to follow all College work rules and policies.
  1. Knowledge of relational databases and programming languages, including SQL or PL/ SQL .
  2. Basic knowledge of programming principles and best practices.
  3. Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to communicate technical and complex information both verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
  4. Ability to work cooperatively with, and contribute to, a diverse workplace through ideas or experience.
  5. Able to develop, write, and debug software or use other tools to work with data and produce reports or other data outcomes.
  6. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information technology administration guides, user manuals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
  7. Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  8. Experience working with third-party, cloud-based applications.
  9. Experience working in a help desk environment.
  10. Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, time management and documentation skills.
  11. Ability to work with customized role- and class-based user privilege assignment on ERP system.
Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:
Position typically works regular office hours, M-F, 8 am to 5 pm. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary at times due to the nature of the responsibilities and/or business requirements. Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of a primarily sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Physical movements involve guiding, feeding materials into proper position. Lifting objects vary daily, ranging from 1lb to over 25lbs. Use of computer screen is required 70% of the work time.   • Associate’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience required
  • Two years of professional work experience using SQL or PL/ SQL .
  • One year of professional experience in software programming and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous PL/ SQL, . NET, Shell-Scripting and/or Ellucian Banner is a plus!
