The Marketing Coordinator will join an energetic team in the Office of Strategic Marketing and Media Relations. The position will serve as a liaison to various areas of the College to coordinate marketing support services and to ensure consistent and targeted messaging to students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and the community. The ability to work as part of a team and the confidence to work independently is expected. A dynamic individual with a strong work ethic and an agile approach are essential.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following*:
• Write content and manage the distribution of personalized
student success stories including accomplishments and activities to
local media, high schools, government representatives, students,
and support networks through the Merit Pages software.
• Create and manage a strategic social media plan for departmental
accounts affiliated with Hiram College; implement policies and
procedures to ensure regular activity and brand consistency.
• Design and execute social media ambassador program to increase
engagement of internal and external audiences.
• Serve as a primary copywriter for promotional materials,
publications, website content, social media content, and
advertising purposes; proof content submitted by various
departments.
• Production and design of creative materials (print and
electronic) including posters, postcards, campus signage, social
media graphics, digital monitors, brochures, and other related
materials.
• Take photos and create videos that align with the College’s brand
guidelines for social media and other promotional use.
• Conduct research and evaluate opportunities to increase awareness
and create brand recognition through communication among key
constituents.
• Project management and other duties related to assisting the
director, as the coordinator will play a key role in keeping the
office organized and aware of trends and potential
opportunities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• One to three years of experience in marketing, communication, or
a similar field
• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse community
• Ability to work collaboratively with varied constituencies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, website management, and all
social media platforms
• Proven graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent professional writing skills and knowledge of AP writing
style
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and
execution of marketing materials
• Strong strategic, creative, analytical, and organizational
skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing
numerous projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail
