The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with faculty, college and agency staff to coordinate the cardiovascular technology (CVT) clinical education with the didactic education. Responsibilities will include evaluation of the clinical effectiveness through a schedule of regular visits to clinical sites, ensuring that student assignments are made to qualified technologist; completing student competency evaluations, being available to assist students in clinical situations, and facilitating communication between clinical site preceptors, students and program faculty. Works in conjunction with the Clinical Liaison team to assure onboarding of students and health records are updated prior to clinical placement. Acquires clinical sites to meet the demands for student placement. Schedules and coordinates the RCIS study review courses, annually. Conducts and assists with data collection and summary of surveys.

WORK PERFORMED

  • Serve as liaison for communication with clinical agencies
  • Communicate with preceptors in the clinical setting
  • Communicate with Program Chair and faculty the status of student learning experiences
  • Acquires clinical sites to meet the demands for student placement
  • Maintain student records
  • Updates, maintains, and creates new student accounts to the clinical management system
  • Promote health careers at HCC
  • Distribute, collect and records required accreditation surveys (Graduate, Employer and Resource)
  • Takes inventory and orders supplies, prior to the start of each semester
  • Coordinates RCIS study review courses
  • Updates and distributes CVT Newsletter to Advisory Board Members
  • Classroom didactic instruction as assigned
  • Maintain and provide instructional support for clinical courses
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health related field and/or relevant work experience
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience
  • Cardiovascular Professional (RT, RVT, RN, RRT) with cardiac registry (RCIS or RCES)
  • Recent clinical experience
  • Must possess proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Orientation to detail for maintenance of records
  • Ability to multitask and manage time
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.
  • Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity.

Hours Per Week: 37.5
Work Schedule: 8:30am - 5pm, some evenings and weekends as needed
Compensation: $56,295 plus excellent medical & dental, tuition reimbursement and paid leave
FLSA Status: Exempt
Grade: 13

As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.
