Position Overview:

Develop and implement recruitment and admissions strategy across entire university or for a particular school, program, or student segment. Define and track enrollment targets and suggest approaches to achieving them. Direct recruitment and admissions staff and work with them to establish standards and effective processes. Resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with other functions (registration, school administration, marketing, alumni relations) to develop integrated approach to attracting and retaining students.

Scope and Impact: Responsible for the daily administrative direction and execution of program, function, or activity within a department. Through the quality of decision and execution, may have significant impact within defined area. Budget Authority : Responsible for project timelines and budgets. Coordinates and allocates resources relevant to assigned area. Limited signature authority for purchases or payroll. Policy and Procedure Authority: Assists and consults in developing and recommending policies and strategic plans in the larger department. Limited authority to implement policies/procedures within area of responsibility. May have defined/limited ability to grant exceptions to policy. Reports to: reports to a Dean or Director. In very large departments, may report to a faculty chair. May undertake some responsibilities of the Director in their absence. Supervisory Responsibility : Supervises departmental employees and evaluates staff performance. Generally supervises professionals and individual contributors and may supervise subordinate managers. Coaches & develops employees. Promoted effective relationships and departmental culture. Effective Knowledge: Contributes through advanced knowledge, skill, and experience. Proficient at project management, planning, and developing goals. May directly undertake some administrative/support tasks, though this should not exceed 30% of the job responsibilities. Problem Solving : Develops, evaluations, and implements measures to improve quality that have an impact at the department or divisional level. Modifies guidelines and processes to resolve issues or problems. Communication & Interaction: Communicates guidelines for project and service delivery. Uses diplomacy and advanced communication skills in unstructured settings.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for organizing and managing the Student Ambassador Program. Including application process, student organization processes, budget requirements, etc. Plans and implements comprehensive Ambassador training, monthly meetings, and annual retreat.
  • Coordinates special events for undergraduate admissions including Central Preview Days, Bronze, Blue & TRiO day, Counselor Only Program, High School Counselor Day, Diversity Day, Broncho Premiere, Edmond College Night, and Transfer Student focused events. Assist with creation/reproduction of all Prospective Student Event and Campus Tours print materials.
  • Responsible for all campus tours including regularly schedule tours, group tours, scavenger hunt tours, and private tours.
  • Works diligently with the event management portal of Recruit CRM.
  • Partners with academic departments to enhance the prospective students' on campus experience. Manage Budget for On-Campus Events, Tours, and Student Ambassador Program. Supervise one coordinator position and student worker positions.
Qualifications

Experience Required:

Requires a bachelor’s degree + 3 years of relative experience or 7 years of relative experience that includes leading the planning of program development and innovation, program prioritization and assessment as well as appropriate professional accomplishments and credentials.

Experience Preferred:

Master's degree. Prior event management experience. Public speaking experience. Familiarity with admission and enrollment process in a university setting. Budget Management Experience. Supervisory Experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Good computer skills to include Microsoft Office. Detailed oriented and good organizational skills. Ability to work independently, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, and interacts professionally with all segments of the University community. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Knowledgeable in the higher education attainment process, particularly the requirements and general value of education. Demonstration of a warm and caring professional attitude. Willingness to work within the academic framework of the University and to serve on faculty, staff and student committees. Ability to communicate effectively with department chairpersons and/or deans regarding recruitment. Ability to work well under pressure.
