The Department of Computer Science at the University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola, Florida, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Science (Position #127530). For this position, we are interested in applicants from all areas in computing or related fields, with a particular emphasis on candidates whose research focuses on data analytics, software engineering, or artificial intelligence.

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment and a strong commitment to teaching, academic research, and service. The ideal candidate will be able to teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, develop a strong research program, be a mentor to students, and be an active member of the department, contributing to its success and the mission of the university. The appointment starts in August 2022. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

 

The Department of Computer Science offers Bachelor of Science degree programs in Computer Science and Cybersecurity that have been accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and a Bachelor of Science in Software Design & Development. UWF and its Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity have been designated as a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency. At the graduate level, the department offers Master of Science programs in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. A minor in Computer Science and various certificates at the undergraduate and graduate level are also offered. Students in our programs enjoy the personal attention of faculty members in all facets of their education.
