Job Summary:

The Center for the First-Year Experience (CFYE) helps incoming students adjust to life at UW-Madison, while educating faculty and staff on ways to connect with first-year students. Our mission at the Center for the First-Year Experience is to understand and improve a student's first year at UW-Madison. We are the campus leader and primary resource on the subject of student transition to UW-Madison. CFYE supports students in self-reflection and active learning inside and outside of the classroom as they create the foundation for their Wisconsin Experience. We facilitate this process through a long-term inclusive strategy of intentional programming, on-going services, communication, and collaboration with faculty and staff.

This position will primarily focus on recruiting, selecting, training, supervising and evaluating new student leaders, orientation assistants, and interns. This position will also collaborate with other CFYE staff to implement Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) program and Wisconsin Welcome.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year experience in orientation, transition, or retention programs, supervising college students in an employment setting, and/or advising college or college bound students

The Center for the First Year Experience ( https://newstudent.wisc.edu/ ) is part of Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, led by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being, identity and inclusion, leadership and engagement, and student advocacy.
