Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a
nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of
Mechanical Engineering faculty position in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering beginning August 2022. Rank will be
commensurate with experience and determined upon hire.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and potentially
graduate courses throughout the curriculum, with emphasis on the
mechanics sequence of statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and
fluid mechanics (shared with the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering). Responsibilities also include
teaching other ME courses such as materials science,
thermodynamics, computer aided engineering, and related laboratory
courses such as fluid mechanics, strength of materials, vibrations
and controls, and heat transfer. Some service activities at the
department, college, or university level are expected.
An earned Master’s, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical
Engineering, or related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications Include
- An earned Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical
Engineering, or related field
- Related work experience and/or Professional Engineering
- Record of past teaching in higher education
- Experience in teaching strength of materials (including related
laboratory course) and other engineering mechanics courses
- Experience teaching in various delivery modes
- Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an
ethnically diverse community
